Exercise Safety When Plugging in Your Lava Lamps Around Curtains
While lava lamps might never go
out of style and are a fun accent to a lot of great rooms in your home such as a game room or entertainment
room, there are some dangers to keep in mind. One of the biggest dangers when it comes to setting up your
giant lava lamps is where you put them.
Lava lamps can be very hot as the goal is to bring the oils to a hot temperature so that they can float
around. This is perfectly safe in the right setting but requires that you keep it away from certain things
such as curtains.
Putting cool lava lamps near curtains can be a dangerous
mistake. Curtains that are made of light weight material, particularly those with shears can catch on fire in no
time if touched by lava lamps. Keeping a distance between wh
ere you keep your lava lamps and
any curtains hanging in the room is essential to the safety of your family. You should make sure the lava lamps are
setting on a flat surface that can not easily tip over if bumped or pulled on. Make sure that the lava lamps are
not placed low to the floor where children or pets can get to them and that they are not at the bottom of a curtain
where they can easily touch.
Lava lamps are a lot of fun and really pretty if they are used carefully. They can be great mood setters and
work well in several different settings. Regardless of how safe you think it is to put them near curtains or
furniture, it is not worth the risk. Think carefully when you are putting lava lamps in your home, especially if
you have children. Place them in well thought out safe locations and enjoy them for hours.
